Batch Image to Text

When you have a pile of screenshots — five error dialogs, a folder of receipt photos, a set of slides saved as images — running them one file at a time is busywork. Batch image to text means dropping multiple pictures at once and getting a single editable result. Screenshot2Text accepts several PNG, JPG, WEBP, GIF, or BMP files in this tab. Recognition runs locally with open-source OCR. We do not upload your images for OCR, and we do not store the pictures or the extracted strings on a server.

This page is the batch-focused entrance to the same converter on the homepage. There is no account and no charge — the site is free forever and ad-supported. Progress shows which file is being read (for example, File 2 of 5) and a percent for the whole batch. When more than one file returns text, the output is concatenated with a filename header above each block so you can tell which screenshot produced which paragraph. A file that cannot be read is skipped; the others still finish and a short note explains the skip.

How many files you can drop depends on your device, not on a plan. A handful of ordinary screenshots is the intended use. Dozens of huge camera originals may slow or stall the tab because the work happens on your machine. PDFs work on this same reader if you have those instead — each page is rendered locally, then read. You can mix images and a PDF in one drop if you need to.

Batch does not change the privacy story. The files stay in this browser for recognition. The first run may briefly fetch small recognition files to your device (cached after); those requests do not include your pictures. Printed UI text and sharp screenshots still convert best.
